The aim of this study is to develop a high-efficiency
converter by using Cockcroft-Walton (CW) Voltage Multiplier. In this context,
power electronics performs important tasks making viable the connection of all
these kind of clean power sources to the load, a topology that produces a high
step-up gain. Through a voltage multiplier module, a conventional interleaved
boost converter has very complex circuit and high cost. The configuration of
proposed converter not only reduces the input current ripple, which decreases
the conduction losses and lengthens the lifetime of the input source. In
addition, due to using Cockcroft-Walton (CW) voltage multiplier, the output
voltage is high and cost of the multiplier is low. The interleaved arrangement
and Cockcroft-Walton (CW) voltage multiplier are adopted to step-up the input
voltage, the proposed converter acquires higher gain and comparative study made
between voltage multiplier and Cockcroft-Walton (CW) voltage multiplier. Finally, the prototype circuit with 12V input
voltage and 200V output voltage is operated to verify the performance.
