The quality of the fabric or cloth depends on the quality of the yarn. So in order to get a good quality material the yarn must have high tensile strength. It is easier when the tensile strength of the yarn is measured, so the quality of the yarn can also be categorized. There are conventional equipment and methods available to measure the tensile strength of the yarn, but there exists some disadvantages in those methods. This paper proposes to measure the tensile strength of the yarn by taking continuous measurements of tensile strength up to the maximum value (break point) of the yarn so that the exact break point is noted. The exact break point is noted with the help of digital meter. So the drawbacks in conventional methods are rectified. Now the yarn can be easily categorized and it is easy to obtain best quality material.
